Leathersellers’ Foundation – Small Grants Programme

The following funding is available:

Small Grants Programme for unrestricted one-off grants of up to £5,000.

The Small Grants Programme accepts applications from UK registered charities including Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) but not Community Interest Companies (CICs).

To be eligible organisations must:

  • Provide assistance to vulnerable people in their community.
  • Operate in a geographical area of high deprivation in the UK.
  • Have a planned expenditure of under £200,000 in 2023/24.

The funder is looking for organisations that:

  • Understand the needs of their local community.
  • Are open and transparent about their work and finances.
  • Are working in partnership with others.

Unrestricted one-off grants can be used to support the activities of small UK registered charities, including charitable incorporated organisations but not community interest companies, that are currently supporting vulnerable people and working in geographical areas of high deprivation in the UK.

There will be 10 application rounds, with submissions accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and the total number capped at 45 per round.

Applicants should provide the following information:

  • What their organisation does to make a difference.
  • Why this is needed.
  • Who their organisation is helping.
  • How they know it is making a difference.

The Small Grants Programme 2023-24 is now open for applications. This is a rolling funding programme.

There are 10 application windows throughout the year. Submissions are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. As soon as 45 applications have been received, applications will close for the round.

Applications for 2023-2024 open on:

  • 4 September 2023 for the 10 October 2023 Committee Meeting.
  • 2 October 2023 for the 9 November 2023 Committee Meeting.
  • 6 November 2023 for the 6 December 2023 Committee Meeting.
  • Winter Break from 18 December 2023 to 2 January 2024
  • 4 December 2023 for the 9 January 2024 Committee Meeting.
  • 2 January 2024 for the 13 February 2024 Committee Meeting.
  • 5 February 2024 for the 12 March 2024 Committee Meeting.
  • Easter Break from 2 April 2024 to 12 April 2024
  • 4 March 2024 for the 16 April 2024 Committee Meeting.
  • 6 May 2024 for the 12 June 2024 Committee Meeting.

Applications are made using the online application form on the Leathersellers’ Company website. The Small Grants Committee meets regularly to ensure charities receive a decision within a month of submitting their application.
