Commissioning Community Services by Burntwood Town Council 2023-2026

Burntwood Town Council is changing the way it funds some voluntary organisations that work with local people. We are being more proactive in seeking partnerships to help develop services in the Town.

Organisations can apply for funding of up to £5,000 per year for three years to support our community.

We are looking for partners to develop services in the following 2 areas:

  • Adult mental health and wellbeing support
  • Youth Services (11 – 18 years)

We are interested in hearing from existing and experienced organisations already working in Burntwood as well as other organisations who might be interested in expanding their services to the town.

A creative and imaginative approach would be an advantage. The learning outcomes important, and the Council is interested on building services more strategically, so a longer-term view of how to gradually build up successful and quality services will be necessary. It might be that your organisation “levers in” more funding from other sources using our grant as seed money.

The successful organisations will be able to work in partnership with the Council and other organisations, be able to demonstrate a good grasp of the subject matter and have a strong link and knowledge of the town of Burntwood.

Organisations should be:

  • Constituted or able to incorporate quickly.
  • Have a bank account with at least two signatories.
  • Ideally not-for-profit, but private businesses can apply and would have to demonstrate strong community values.
  • Have relevant policies in place including safeguarding, health and safety, equal opportunities, data protection Etc.

What we do not fund:

  • Political campaigns.
  • Projects that exclusively promote religious beliefs.
  • Projects that do not benefit the residents of Burntwood.
  • Activities delivered or equipment purchased prior to the start of the project.
  • Projects that cover loans, endowments or interest.

We recommend an informal discussion with Burntwood Town Council prior to application.

More details and how to apply are on the attached application form.
