Telephone Assessor – Staffordshire Victim Gateway

Salary: £21,100 p.a.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis Monday to Saturday including some evening work untill 7pm and Bank Holidays.

Location: Brindley Court, Lymedale Business Park, Dalewood Road, Newcastle, Staffs. ST5 9QH.

We are looking to recruit a Gateway Telephone Assessor to join our team.

Staffordshire Victim Gateway is commissioned by Staffordshire’s Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner to support victims of crime, providing information, advice and/or practical and emotional support to victims of crime helping them cope and recover from their experience and exercise their rights under the Victims Code, even if they have not reported the crime to the police.

The successful candidates will be responsible for contacting all victims of crime referred to the service by Staffordshire Police as well as responding to third party or self-referrals. Your role will be to complete an assessment of the victim’s needs and provide immediate and follow up information, advice and emotional support.  Applicants should possess a good telephone manner and have strong communication skills as well as being computer literate and have experience of working in a team.  Flexibility to work day evenings and weekends as well as Bank Holidays, on a rota basis is also required.

Due to the nature of the work post holders will be subject to DBS checks and Enhanced Police Vetting Checks.
